ALEXANDRA KIESELAlexandra Kiesel is the Designer for Tomorrow 2011. The Berlin Weissensee School of Art and Design graduate was selected by star designer Marc Jacobs and an expert jury as the winner of the fashion talent award “Designer for Tomorrow by Peek & Cloppenburg Duesseldorf”. After a tailored long-term sponsorship programme and combing fresh ideas and impressions, Alexandra presented her new collection in January 2012 at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin. Her recognizable “building block designs” divide the garments into different modules and organize the separate components in geometric juxtaposition. Simple materials and classic cuts are upgraded with small details such as chiseled shoulders, collars or narrow belts. By freely combining these “modules”, the wearer can communicate her individual style.
