TravelguideA stylish Affair: The Kensington House Hotel in LondonVon Daniel Verovic London.
After my interview with global style icon David Beckham and getting a chance to make my very own perfume in a similar
style to his new Beyond fragrance, it is only normal to want to continue
my micro London trip in style.
Hidden away amongst the hustle and bustle of one of London's busiest high streets is a gem of a hotel which you would be forgiven for wanting to keep secret just for yourself. The Kensington House Hotel is a luxury boutique hotel which effortlessly blends classic and modern decor in its contemporary rooms. There is something very 'old school English' about this place.
As soon as I stepped into my suite, I felt calm and relaxed as despite its location and proximity to Kensington High Street, it's residential setting gives it a home from home appeal. The Victorian townhouse is deceptively spacious with a nice stairway and lobby. The free Wifi will transport you back from your daydream to your busy life ensuring you are still connected to the outside world - if you choose to be.
The staff are just what you wish from a good hotel - helpful when you need some assistance but with an ability to blend discreetly into the background when you need your privacy and space. I was impressed when the restaurant was closed till dinner but they suggested some nice food delivery places, even my pizza dinner out of a box seemed quite sweet in my rather romantic setting - especially with Saint-Saëns, "The Swan from The Carnival of the Animals" humming from my iPod.
The rooms have a cosy and intimate feel - perfect for a memorable last night in London - now where did we put that bottle of Daniel Verovic fragrance?
Rooms start at £99 and Junior Suites are £220 + VAT and include a continental breakfast.
