This spring/summer, we’ll get soaked to the skin in vibrant, zesty colours: Lingerie manufacturer Hunkemöller has come up with a sassy spring/summer collection that translates the latest trends we’ve seen on the runways into satin and lace.

When talking about fashion, we tend to let clothes not seen on the surface slip out of sight. It’s time to correct our ways. Because if we want to get to that special feeling of being sexy, comfortable and unique, there’s no way past paying attention to those hidden layers that remain closest to our body: Lingerie.
So, the summer fashion verdict is in: Vivacious, eye-catching tones and all-over prints are here to stay, but with a more serene outlook as last year’s colour blocking craze has given way to softer and more feminine approach. Rocking this season’s hottest hues are sorbet colours like mint and pink – this is exactly what a summer should look like: Bright, juicy and sunny.
Fashionistas will delve into floral fantasies, with Etro and Dolce & Gabbana sporting flower prints that look as if freshly plucked from a Sicilian garden. Add Gucci’s shocking pink and the polka dots seen in Haider Ackermann’s collection, and you’ll get a sense of how much fun this summer is going to be.
Sweet bubble gum pink and luxurious prints for the new Hunkemöller-Collection.
Complementing the look, our bras and knickers will also be all about colours. Hunkemöller draws heavily on that sprightly summer mood, amping up stylish undies with lavish bouquet patterns and punchy tones.
Lace elements and cute ribbons enhance the playful sexiness of the designs, balancing the good and the naughty. Monochromatic key pieces in pink, tangerine and blue enter the fray – you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to planning what to wear down-under.
In the midst of all this multicolour vividness, some racy black pieces are making a striking appearance. Classy elegance comes teamed up with a minxy sex-appeal: Opaque black is combined with sheer materials and lace that lets hints of skin subtly shine through. Details of rosy pink lace are skilfully placed, making sure black is still sophisticated yet never gloomy.
Polka dots are adding a generous dose of retro glamour and pin-up flair, as little red bows on bra straps make for a whiff of sauciness, particularly effective in contrast to navy blue panties sprinkled with white dots. What else is new? Long line and bandeau shaped bras.
Red heat combined with playful laces.
We know it’s still a tad early. But this summer is something to look forward to. And here’s one more reason why we love this season’s blithe and cheerful lingerie pieces: As we’re waiting for the sun to come out, we can already put them on to get into that summer feeling. Our favourite new spring/summer outer garments might have to remain in our wardrobes for a few more months. In the meantime, we’ll be wearing the latest trends, underneath layers of winter warmers that will shield us from the cold winds till the warm weather hits.
